This exceptional special tiger pepper comes from a strictly protected nature reserve in the highlands along the coast of Malabar, located in the state of Kerala in southwest India. The tiger is grown by farmers in producer associations far away from any civilization. This unique area is known for its rich biodiversity and is also home to native tigers and elephants. The harvest volume of this traditional pepper plant is very small, but the taste sensation due to flavours such as essential oils is significantly greater than that of other peppers. The pepper is picked by hand and dried in the sun.
